Ingredients
- 1 1/3 cups basmati rice
- Salt
- Pepper
- 1 cup brown lentils
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 Tbs coriander seeds
- 1 tsp ground allspice
- 3/4 tsp ground cinnamon
- 3 Tbs olive oil
- Parsley, chopped
Steps
Cook rice w/ 1 tsp salt.
Simmer lentils 15-20 min. Drain, and mix with rice.
Toast seeds, then grind. Add remaining spices
Heat oil, then cook spices for 3 min. Pour over rice mixture. Add 1 tsp salt and 3/4 tsp pepper.
Add 3 Tbs boiled water Cover and cook 15 min
Coat onions with flour and 1 tsp salt. Fry onions until crispy.
Serve rice, topped with onions and parsley
