Ingredients

  • 1 1/3 cups basmati rice
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • 1 cup brown lentils
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 Tbs coriander seeds
  • 1 tsp ground allspice
  • 3/4 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 3 Tbs olive oil
  • Parsley, chopped

Steps

Cook rice w/ 1 tsp salt. Simmer lentils 15-20 min. Drain, and mix with rice. Toast seeds, then grind. Add remaining spices Heat oil, then cook spices for 3 min. Pour over rice mixture. Add 1 tsp salt and 3/4 tsp pepper. Add 3 Tbs boiled water Cover and cook 15 min Coat onions with flour and 1 tsp salt. Fry onions until crispy. Serve rice, topped with onions and parsley
