Ingredients

  • 225 g (1 1/4c) lentils
  • 2 Tbs oil
  • 1 kg (2 lb, 2 bunches) swiss chard
  • 1 tsp cumin seed
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 50 g (3 Tbs) tahini
  • 1 hot pepper, chopped
  • 2 Tbs lemon juice
  • 1 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/4 tsp Pepper
  • 3 Tbs extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp sumac

Steps

Simmer lentils 30 min. Rinse and drain. Meanwhile, finely chop swiss chard stalks and coarsly chop leaves. Fry stalks 10-15 minutes until tender Toast cumin seeds. Grind Add cumin and garlic to chard and fry a few minutes Add leaves and 100 mL water. Add chard to lentils. Mix in tahini, hot pepper, lemon juice, salt, pepper, and olive oil. Cook 5 minutes. Serves 3 as a main dish. You might want to double!!!
