Ingredients

  • 3tbs butter
  • 3lb yellow onions thinly sliced
  • 32oz need broth
  • 1cup water
  • 2bay leaves
  • 2tsp fresh thyme leaves
  • 1 clove garlic thinly sliced
  • 12 slices French baguette
  • 1 cup squad cheese

Steps

1) Add butter and onions to a pan and cook on low for 1.5 to 2 hours 2) Add to pan water, broth, bay, thyme, and garlic and cook at low for at least 2 hours 3) 10 min before serving broil bread slices with cheese on top. Broil for 2 min 4) Discard bay leave from soup and add salt and pepper. Serve with cheese bread on top
