Ingredients
- 3tbs butter
- 3lb yellow onions thinly sliced
- 32oz need broth
- 1cup water
- 2bay leaves
- 2tsp fresh thyme leaves
- 1 clove garlic thinly sliced
- 12 slices French baguette
- 1 cup squad cheese
Steps
1) Add butter and onions to a pan and cook on low for 1.5 to 2 hours
2) Add to pan water, broth, bay, thyme, and garlic and cook at low for at least 2 hours
3) 10 min before serving broil bread slices with cheese on top. Broil for 2 min
4) Discard bay leave from soup and add salt and pepper. Serve with cheese bread on top
