Ingredients
- 4 Tbs unsalted butter
- 4 onions, sliced
- 1 tsp salt, divided
- 2 Tbs oil
- 4 lb Beef Brisket
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 Tbs Worcestershire sauce
- 1 cup beef broth
- 2 Tbs beef bouillon, or 1 cup beef broth
Steps
1) Preheat oven (225-325F). Preheat 8x12 roasting pan
2) Melt butter and caramelize the onions for 45 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from pan.
3) Rub brisket with salt and pepper on both sides. Add oil to pan and raise temperature to high. Cook on lean side 5 minutes. Flip and cook 3 minutes. Remove from pan.
4) Add remaining ingredients to pan and bring to boil.
5) Place brisket in roasting pan. Add sauce, but no more than half of the thickness of the brisket. Add onions on top. Cover tightly with foil.
6) Roast in oven.
3-4 hours at 325 F or
5-6 hours at 225 F
