Ingredients
- 2 pie crusts
- 3/4 tsp allspice
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 1/2 lb variety apples
- 9 oz cranberries
- 1/4 cup cornstarch
- 1 Tbs heavy cream
- 1 egg yolk
- 3 Tbs sugar
Steps
1) Preheat oven to 375. Line baking sheet with foil and place in oven
2) Peel, core, and slice apples.
3) In a skillet, mix sugar and allspice.
Add apples and cranberries.
Cook 8-10 min, stirring occasionally on medium until half the cranberries burst.
Remove from heat. Stir in cornstarch
4) Unroll crust into 9" pie plate
Add filling
Unroll upper crust and cut 6 vent holes
Crimp edges
5) Beat cream and yolk. Brush over pie crust. Sprinkle with sugar
6) Cook 50-60 minutes on top of the pre-heated baking sheet.
Cool before serving.
