Ingredients
- 3/4 cup Butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/4 tsp Salt
- 1 tsp peppermint extract
- 3 cups white flour
- red food coloring
Steps
1) Cream butter and sugar
2) Beat in egg
3) Add peppermint and salt
4) Gradually add flour
5) Divide dough in half
6) Set half aside
7) Beat food coloring into the other half
8) Shape each color into 36 balls (divide in half, divide each piece in half again, then divide each piece in thirds, divide each piece in thirds again)
9) Roll each ball into 2 ropes 3-4 inches long
10) Twist 1 rope of each color together and shape into a cane
11) Bake 16 minutes at 350F

Next time try cutting the peppermint in half

Also, 16 minutes seems way too long
