Ingredients

  • 2 egg whites
  • 1/8 tsp Salt
  • 1/8 tsp cream of tartar
  • 1 tsp Vanilla
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 6-oz pkg chocolate chips

Steps

1) Beat egg whites, salt, cream of tartar and vinalla until soft peaks form 2) Add sugar gradually, beating until peaks are stiff 3) Fold in chips 4) Drop teaspoonfuls onto cookie sheet, optionally covered with brown paper or parchment paper 5) Bake at 275F for 20-25 minutes 6) Allow to cool completely before removing from cookie sheet 7) You can substitute any other type of chip - mint, cherry, etc 8) For holidays, add food coloring to along with vanilla 9) Color lightens as it bakes
