Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 cup dry pintos
  • 1 cup dry black beans
  • 1 chop onion
  • 2 celery stalks-chopped
  • 4 med. carrot-chopped
  • 1/2 cup diced green pepper
  • 5 cup hot water
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 3 Tbs ketsup
  • 2 Tbs sugar
  • 1 Tbs cider vinegar
  • 1 1/4 tsp chili powder
  • 1/4 tsp thyme
  • 1/4 tsp dry mustard
  • 1/4 tsp allspice
  • 1/4 tsp Pepper
  • 14-oz can tomato sauce

Steps

1) Put beans in crock pot 24 hours before serving 2) Cover with 3" how\t tap water 3) Cover and cook on low 8-10 hours 4) Drain beans in colander 5) Combine with all but tomato sauce 6) Cook 10-12 hours on low 7) Add tomato sauce
