Ingredients
- 1 1/2 tsp ground cumin
- 1 1/2 tsp ground coriander
- 1 tsp ground ginger
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 3/4 tsp ground cardamom
- 1/2 tsp Cayenne
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1/2 tsp ground turmeric
- 1/4 tsp ground cloves
- 1 Tbs minced garlic
- 1 1/2 lb leg of lamb, cubed
- 1 sm onion, diced
- 1 tsp Canola oil
- 14 oz diced tomatoes
- 2 Tbs tomato paste
- 2/3 cup water
- 1/2 cup Yogurt
- 1/2 cup chopped fresh cilantro
Steps
1) Combine 1st 9 ingredients (through cloves) in plastic bag
2) Add lamb, and refrigerate 8 hours or overnight
3) Heat oil in large saucepan over med- high heat
4) Add lamb and onion, and brown
5) Add broth, scraping pan to loosen brown bits, and bring to boil
6) Cover, simmer 1 hr (or 5+ hours in crock pot)
7) Cook over med-high heat 30min, ur until sauce is thickened
8) Add yogurt and cilantro
9) Serve with rice, or in a pita pocket
