Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 1/2 tsp ground coriander
  • 1 tsp ground ginger
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 3/4 tsp ground cardamom
  • 1/2 tsp Cayenne
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp ground turmeric
  • 1/4 tsp ground cloves
  • 1 Tbs minced garlic
  • 1 1/2 lb leg of lamb, cubed
  • 1 sm onion, diced
  • 1 tsp Canola oil
  • 14 oz diced tomatoes
  • 2 Tbs tomato paste
  • 2/3 cup water
  • 1/2 cup Yogurt
  • 1/2 cup chopped fresh cilantro

Steps

1) Combine 1st 9 ingredients (through cloves) in plastic bag 2) Add lamb, and refrigerate 8 hours or overnight 3) Heat oil in large saucepan over med- high heat 4) Add lamb and onion, and brown 5) Add broth, scraping pan to loosen brown bits, and bring to boil 6) Cover, simmer 1 hr (or 5+ hours in crock pot) 7) Cook over med-high heat 30min, ur until sauce is thickened 8) Add yogurt and cilantro 9) Serve with rice, or in a pita pocket
