Ingredients

  • 1 Tbs oil
  • 1/2 tsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp grated fresh ginger
  • 1+1/4 tsp cornstarch
  • 24 med. (10 oz) shrimp, shelled & deveined
  • Salt
  • 1 tsp + 1 tsp oyster sauce
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1 cup julienned carrots
  • 1 cup broccoli florets
  • 1 cup sliced scallions/leeks

Steps

1) Combine oil, sugar, baking soda, ginger, 1/4 tsp cornstarch and salt 2) Add shrimp and marinade 10 minutes 3) Combine 1 tsp cornstarch, 2 tsp water, 1 tsp oyster sauce, and set aside 4) Mix remaining oyster sauce and red pepper in hot skillet 5) Cook briefly 6) Add shrimp and carrots and stir fry 4 minutes 7) Add oyster sauce mixture, broccoli, and scallion and stir fry 3- 4 minutes longer, until shrimp is pink and opaque
